August Bank Holiday

As is customary on an English bank holiday the weather is quite crappy and everyone is having a thoroughly miserable time. However, unlike English tradition this is not as a result of spending dreary afternoons avoiding the rain by playing monopoly and watching repeats of The Great Escape.

Our unhappiness is two fold. Firstly as we say goodbye to two sets of good friends in one day (who we are unlikely to see again in the next six to twelve months) and secondly, because that small niggling feeling that we ought to start packing is becoming quite a large throbbing feeling really rather quickly.

A month to go and the excitement is a little abated by the fact we still have a hell of a lot to do. I have no doubt that we can and will get it done, it all just seems like rather a lot of work. Tasks like the first entry on the blog start to seem like essentials when the alternative is folding yet another T-shirt or attempting not to gaffa tape your hand to the packing box you are constructing.

Anyway, I must get back to building our cardboard kingdom...unless anybody fancies a traditional game of monopoly that is?
